"Let me tell you the story of how we discovered Provence Homes: Once upon a time my Gary and I were renters. We had always been renters and we decided that maybe it was time to buy a home of our own. We had a realtor recommended to us named Judy (a really fun lady). One day while Gary and I were out driving around neighborhoods, we wound up in the Barry Harbour subdivision. There were a few homes on that very first street of the subdivision for sale and Gary and I wanted to take a look at them. We called Judy and told her where we were and she said "Just meet me at the model home". We thought "What model home?" So we drove into the Hunter's Ridge portion of the subdivision and there they were. Two lovely model homes by John Lober! Gary and I immediately fell in love with the quality and styling of the homes, particularly the smaller of the two. It seemed like a dream. We just looked at each other smiling that secret smile like "I think this is it!" Our realtor, Judy, arrived and we all began talking with the Realty Agent at the model home and asking if there were any lots available in this subdivision. We were informed by this realty agent that there weren't any lots available in this subdivision at Hunters Ridge that they were all taken. We then asked if the model home was for sale and we were told that it wasn't on the market yet. I was heartbroken. The realty agent then told us that if we were interested in that style of home that there were lots available on Prairie View Road. Gary, Judy and I all drove over to Prairie View Road to look around. Judy recommended that we not build a home from scratch since we were first time home buyers and try to find something that fit our needs already in the market. Gary and I both felt disappointed. But my Gary is very good at reading people. He just had a gut feeling that the Realty Agent at Hunter's Ridge wasn't being exactly honest with us. Gary went back the very next day and a different agent was working there (a woman named Wynonna ). He asked her if there were any lots available in the Hunter's Ridged subdivision with potential walk out basement and she said yes. That there were two lots available and that we could make a refundable deposit on one of the lots and then meet with John to see if he could build us a home. To make a very long story short, we are now living blissfully on lot # 38. Gary and I speculate that the first realty agent we met at the model home might not have wanted to split a commission with our realty agent, Judy. I just don't know. But if my Gary hadn't been persistent we might never have been blessed with our lovely sanctuary. Gary and I are both artists at Hallmark Cards and we recognize quality when we see it. The homes that John builds are of the highest quality and styling. They are serene in organization, and wonderfully elegant. Hallmark prides itself on creating cards that are "the very best", we feel that John cares enough to build "the very best"."

You see we feel like we already live at the Fairmont Hotel. My home is the best hotel and day spa I could ever stay at. "My husband and I were very impressed the minute we walked in the front door of the John Lober home in Hunter's Ridge. The first thing we noticed were all the large windows which made everything look bright and cheery. The molding around the windows really set them off and looked very expensive in this modest home. The fireplace was a focal point with notable trimming of distinction and the high ceilings just gave you a feeling of being in a much larger home. We particularly like the open concept with the dining area as it also gives you the feeling of more space. The kitchen is so appealing with the cabinets done in an unusual, but very attractive, pecan finish and having the glass cabinet doors is also a lovely touch. The small coffee deck is nice but we appreciate the beautiful larger deck that Mr. Lober added as we like to entertain outside. We do plan to screen in the smaller section for the two of us to enjoy the pleasant Missouri mornings with no bugs! We especially like the way Mr. Lober designed the den adding the French doors to give a little different look and the area built in a semicircle makes for a most unique room. The master bedroom is beautiful and large with the vaulted ceiling and indirect lighting gives it much atmosphere at bedtime. The large shower in the master bath is also much appreciated as well as the Jacuzzi tub. Mr. Lober completed the house with a great choice of light fixtures throughout and we are very grateful for his good choice of mirrors in the 2 bathrooms. Mr. Lober seems to have utilized all the space in a very decorative manner and the workmanship is exceptional. Jerry and I highly recommend any home designed and built by Mr. John Lober."
